March Madness... of the Non-Basketball Sort....

Hubby and I, also MIL and numerous friends share the month of March for our Birthdays. We always end up with quite the fiesta extravaganza for  the start of spring. This past week being no exception.

Let's open up the photo files and look at what we did ~

We sipped wine on more than one occasion

Shared time with family and friends...

Meals, noshes and sweets galore!

San Francisco and my Girls were in the mix (sorta early in the Bday schedule) ~

Yes, of course - we walked the beach a time or two ~

I gardened some ~

with chickens by my side.. they gave their interpretation of Birthday salutations!!

Madness of the sane crazily busy sort! All for fun. All to celebrate that which we are truly blessed and happy to have - another YEAR. (or any portion there of - we'll take!)

March! Spring has begun!

                                                                      JOY!!

Fifty-Five... Not a Speed Limit!!

Birthday today. I'm a Spring baby. Love everything about spring. Mostly love everything about the birthday. I'm 55 today... not bothering me a bit! I'm not one to lie about the number of years I've accummulated. Proud to wear it ALL!

Like wearing a jaunty colorful scarf that blows in the seabreeze as I take a photo...

I'll still place a sassy wig upon my head - just for fun...

A costume??.... don't mind if I do...

I'll gladly wear the badges for wife, friend, daughter, chicken-Mama, gardener, cook, and millions more... and mostly I do NOT follow that speed limit!

55 is just a number!!   I look at it and smile... let's see if I can reach 75 ?? Bet I can!

Our Hunny Turned One

Winnie the Pooh and his gang of squishy-cute pals celebrated with us yesterday. Picnic and frolic were on the agenda. It was Charlie's first birthday.

Warm picnic weather, lots of family and friends and packages wrapped in all sorts of brightly colored attire. Truly creative party details in every corner.

Yummy picnic food!!

Here's an "exclusive" shot of our Hunny ~

I know, you can't see his precious face... his parents really appreciate us not posting photos of him on any public sites. Take it from me.... Charlie's precious.

Oh so many reasons to celebrate - a life that has just begun... so much to look forward to!

If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.”
A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

Much love to my sweet little Great-nephew on this, the start of his second year....

Nothing Could Be Finer - Than To Be In...

Very near to the first day of Spring, just a day past that ol' fuddy-dud of Winter hitting the road... I was born. Lucky me! I do love this time of year. Not just because of my Birthday. Yet, when you get a day like this for celebrating.... then you're very grateful! Come see how I spent my day ~

Went out to a farm to take some photographs for the Goat Hill blog. Good country vibe, cloudy skied day, and twisty hill roads to travel with my Hubby.

many dusty, oldy finds strewn about the barn ~

Then the wind changed direction.. as did we ~

Off over the hills to the west.  Choice of the Birthday person as to what was next. I chose BEACH!! For a bite of lunch and a walk. As we patio-picnicked {aka - outdoor dining at a restaurant} at Santa Cruz Harbor, something off in the kelp held every ones attention ~

and were we ever entertained...  I think the little otter knew it..

We strolled, only ever so slowly, as Hubby isn't doing fast these days...

Sea spray, gulls! An end of the levee lighthouse shone its beacon of light. For ME! On my day!
{sure felt like that anyway}.. if it wasn't shining on me, I needed it to be. Always nice to know there's light at the end of a tunnel ~

I was happy to go home and work. Yep, even that was joyful! Work in the garden with a chicken, and you're bound to be happy!

There was even room left in the day for dinner out after removing soil from my fingertips and sprucing up a tad. 'Twas a grand Spring day! Nothin' could be finer...

{not sure I can tie-in Dean-o singing Carolina! Luv him tho, so here it is!}
