The Seduction of Spring

That ole' crusty winter has been whisked away. Spring sent the winds to push it out of our lives for the next half-year or more. Remnants of rain - droplets of winter tears - periodically sprinkle newly planted seeds.

Mesmerized and enchanted by Springs flirtatious ways... that I am! Walking takes on entirely familiar, yet fresh & new emotions..   How delightful the mimosa perfume punctuating the air!
Kaleidoscopic color feeding my eyes.  So enticing the soft pink fruit tree petals cascading from the boughs... only to land in diminishing puddles and float in circles for a time.

Spring - deserving of an award for starlet of seasons. You make me smile - take my breath away at the beauty of nature - I sit in wonder of it all!

Joys are abundant in my garden, at my home during this early springtime in California! Lucky me!

Easter & Lisa Kudrow Lyrics

The laughing-est family evening ever for Easter.

We drove to see my brothers and parents. One of my nieces in particular was the creator of some jolly time! My SIL is learning to play the guitar and she strummed for us first.. then the niece took over the guitar and added singing to the mix. Put her on stage and she can be a giggling, entertaining, raucous-laughing show!

Spring was present! Loved my SIL's flowers. My brother's pride-and-joy garden...

gift to the fam

With my "memory-garden" in mind, I thought to dig-up and divide iris from my yard. These particular bearded iris are from the garden of my Aunt Lorraine who passed years ago. Each spring I'm reminded of her when these beauties bloom. So, everyone was given a bag with a couple of rhizomes to place our Aunt's diligent work in each of their gardens... thus extending the spaces that memories will be evoked!

No egg hunt,  but I had dyed some at home just to place out for me to admire their color!

Lisa Kudrow will never know how many giddy-goat moments she inspired! "Smelly Cat" while not a traditional Easter hymn was the perfect touch to our Easter!

LAUGHTER!!!  good for the soul....

March Madness... of the Non-Basketball Sort....

Hubby and I, also MIL and numerous friends share the month of March for our Birthdays. We always end up with quite the fiesta extravaganza for  the start of spring. This past week being no exception.

Let's open up the photo files and look at what we did ~

We sipped wine on more than one occasion

Shared time with family and friends...

Meals, noshes and sweets galore!

San Francisco and my Girls were in the mix (sorta early in the Bday schedule) ~

Yes, of course - we walked the beach a time or two ~

I gardened some ~

with chickens by my side.. they gave their interpretation of Birthday salutations!!

Madness of the sane crazily busy sort! All for fun. All to celebrate that which we are truly blessed and happy to have - another YEAR. (or any portion there of - we'll take!)

March! Spring has begun!

                                                                      JOY!!

Fifty-Five... Not a Speed Limit!!

Birthday today. I'm a Spring baby. Love everything about spring. Mostly love everything about the birthday. I'm 55 today... not bothering me a bit! I'm not one to lie about the number of years I've accummulated. Proud to wear it ALL!

Like wearing a jaunty colorful scarf that blows in the seabreeze as I take a photo...

I'll still place a sassy wig upon my head - just for fun...

A costume??.... don't mind if I do...

I'll gladly wear the badges for wife, friend, daughter, chicken-Mama, gardener, cook, and millions more... and mostly I do NOT follow that speed limit!

55 is just a number!!   I look at it and smile... let's see if I can reach 75 ?? Bet I can!

Feeling Squirrely

Bushy-tailed hoarders scamper still. Our yard; their playground.

Here's what I watched out the window the other morning....

Squirrely was too efficient with the hiding of his pantry staples for the winter. Not a walnut in sight. He's choosing to forage for rose hips.

Today's the day for pruning the rose bushes. The start of pruning, anyway. We have countless thorny rosaceous climbers, trailers, bushes, etc., and it takes awhile to get them all under control.

Winter is seen in countless ways around my garden. Our flying friends have left their home ...

Last post I eluded to the fact that I'm "Spring-dreamin".  'Tis true... I sat for hours and browsed a gorgeous seed website and ordered their catalog - solely to gander again at their imagery! What
beauty there is to be found at Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds.... oh my!

Grey, cold and if I may say so- some gloom - are how the last few days have been. However, it's nothing that a handful of bright yellow tulips can't change!! They too are a harbinger of Spring!!

Rose Reunion

Meeting up again, after the winter, with some of my floral-friends - my ROSES. A reunion of sorts. My, these mates of mine are sure looking good. They've got on their party dresses, and they plan on strutting and flirting...

I shall reminisce ~

Scentimental - planted in memory of our sweet Riley

Each of these friends came in different dresses, not one is the same!

Just as at most reunions - the names of some of these faces have been forgotten.

The beauty of this reunion? It lasts for quite some time. Months of pleasure! We've just gotten started.

SO HAPPY TO MAKE YOUR REACQUAINTANCE!

The Trail To Spring

Found a bit of spring with each step...

Walks in rain, and sun {Part I}

Part 2 of walking in Spring on next post..... so many floral photos they need a space all of their own!
