Got Statues??

Like garden statuary much? Apparently I have a fixation! While out in my back-forty (hhaa), tending to the massively overgrown garden, I took notice in all of the pieces of various statuary that are artfully gracing my yard. Seems I've got a cement art gallery going on back there! Wanna see?...

wait!... there's more ~

and finally....

looks like some foofing of the bacopa is needed !  ^  a little fertilizing, maybe?

Thus you have my garden gallery! There are a few more pieces a bit worse for wear, in bits 'n pieces strewn about. I really should part with some of those!

Fall Kind of Happy

Right along with walking and the pigs.... there were a myriad of items that made my life a picnic yesterday! During my "escape" itinerary along with my walk, I visited a place that I hadn't been to in years. It is a treasure, to be sure. I've lived near it - in years past. I've taken my Mother here to inhale holiday spirit and beauty. I've walked the grounds in awe of it's vintage charm. It is called The Allied Arts Guild. It was teeming with Autumnal allure ....

 How about these views!!!  ~

what an entry!...

It's not named ALLIED ARTS for nuthin'...
AGAIN with the painters I find while walking...

Yes, Fall was in the air ~
insert display on my mantle, please!

more gourds ~

Strolled, smiled, talked, oohed and ahhed...

Captured a trio of butterflies flitting in the autumn sky ~

nothing more delightful, or harder to catch

Then I realized, no rest for the weary. Don't light upon this bench for too long....

Lest I never get up and awake from my "pretend picnic-life"....

Yet, in reality, my life is one helluva picnic compared to some, and it's also beautifully rich and full ~

TRULY!!!

Randomness

A highlight to many of my walks is in finding random, unexpected and quirky scenes ~

And I personally looked just as quirky as I strolled along in the rain taking all of these photos whilst resembling a large banana!

The crazy lady may have turned Big Bird's feathers into some form of rain-proof vinyl!  All for the love of her trade; the sake of her walk she weathered the.... errrr  - weather! A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do...

Growing

*ADDITIONS MADE!*

Don't you just love when someone has something great happen in their life? When it brings you such joy too... when it makes you so proud of them. My niece has been taking photography classes for a couple of years.  There have been a few exhibits of art, with hers included, that we've attended.  I'm always so excited to see what she has created. I love to scan the room and find just the right spot on the wall where her beautiful pieces hang.
To stand before them and gaze, and think.. "now how did she do that?" or "where do her ideas come from?".
Always, I ponder how in the world she grew up so quickly. Long ago she used to say that she wanted to be like me. I wonder if she still wishes this?  Truthfully, I hope not! She is standing in a place that she's found all on her own... with guidance from her parents and "a village".  Her talent is true. As the years unfold possibly we will get ever bigger glimpses into her artistic dreams. Following along on her coattails is what I intend to do.

Christie has now been named in a publication. Two pieces of her art are shown along with others from her college. A small piece of print, but no less important because of it's size. It is there in black and white - she has made it! She has made art! She has made an Aunt very proud!

Cool, huh????!
